Confused and intimidated by why she was intensely staring at me, I growled at her. Despite my warning, she began to move even closer to me, her hand hovering above my head.
My patience stretched thin, I backed away and began to bark at her.
“How dare you! I just met you and you started staring! How impolite!” I scolded despite the woman in charge of the store shushing me. Wanting nothing to do with both of them, I scampered away and plopped onto my bed.
I watched as multiple dogs got rubbed on the belly, showing their weakness to her. I huffed, “They are going to regret it.” The old husky sighed and replied,
“Let them have their fun, Ace.”

Soon, the woman left with a bossy poodle who strutted out of the pet store without any regret.
“She sure had met her match,” I chuckled, glad the woman had left with a troublesome dog that could teach her to be nicer.
As the new dog and owner pair disappeared from my view, I thought, Well, until next time, I will wait for the special person who will understand me.
