About the Author:
Hello my name is Ellie, and I live near Seattle, Washington with my family. I have a Maltipoo dog named Duke who loves hugs and cheese. I like to tease him yet he often stays calm and just stares at me - his temper is something to admire. In my stories, I often write about nature as I live in the Emerald State. Though many do not, including my family and dog, I love the wet soppy weather that is rarely too cold or too hot, and I also love listening to the rain pitter-patter on the roofs while watching snails slowly crawl in loops on sidewalks. Besides this story, I have written many other stories and poems.
ABOUT THE STORY:
I wrote this story because I wanted to write a story with a character reflecting Duke, my dog. Sometimes when I played fetch with him, I would wonder if he felt excited or annoyed by the constant running, or if he would ever start hating the tennis ball that keeps bouncing in random directions. It seemed like his life was on repeat, and I would have been bored being a dog, but including the small details, his life was enjoyable to imagine - different birds in the garden, various places to sleep in the house, and so on. After I enjoyed watching his daily life, I decided to share his stories and adventures to the reader, so that they can also enjoy the fun of the dog life. To embody the feeling of experiencing what it may be like to be a dog, I chose to make it a chose-your-adventure story that allows readers a rare chance to make their own decisions along the way.
