
Time seemed to have slowed down as she approached me, my attention focused on her. Squatting down, she tentatively reached her hand out below my head, showing no signs of aggressiveness. I pushed her hand with my head and allowed her to pet me. Her hands gently caressed me, just the way I liked it.
“Oh! Guess you're the lucky one!” Some dog exclaimed, happy for me. The lady said something and handed some papers to the girl who was petting me. Meanwhile, my bed was picked up along with my leash, just like it happened to every dog who was getting to explore the world.
I was going to leave the pet store. I didn’t want to leave my dog friends, but this was an opportunity to see the rest of the world. A dog once told me that losses were inevitable for adventures. So, I willingly walked out of the room I had lived my whole life in, and into the strange world with my new companion.
“I hope to see you someday in the future!” I happily barked to the dogs in the room barking in agreement.
The pet store’s bell jingled and together with my new friend, I pranced out into the new world, tipping.
